Ceramics ~ 2.5 creditsCourse description This class is for students who want to enjoy exploring the art and craft of working with clay. Students will receive an introduction to historical, traditional, and current ceramic art. We will focus on two main areas: hand built tableware, such as plates, mugs, dishes and bowls, and ceramic sculpture. They will finish their tableware using food safe glazes. Sculptures will be finished using a wide variety of ceramic decorating techniques. Students will be encouraged to use their self-expressive ideas to create satisfying artworks in clay.
