Test prep assignment in Google Classroom

Test prep assignment

The test will be on Wed, Nov. 10th.

Note: I decided to take some topics off of the test, as we will not have time to cover them sufficiently before the test:
The Ch. 7 section, #3-10  will not be on the test, so you do not have to do these questions.  You still need to do ch.7, #11 (prefixes for covalent compounds), and you can still do the extra credit at the bottom of the last page to prepare for the extra credit on the test (optional)

Also, there are two scientific notation problems on the test: one with multiplying numbers in scientific notation, and one with dividing numbers in scientific notation. I have attached the key to the "Scientific Notation Worksheet" we did last month so that you can review and practice.

Lastly, a great way to practice for the test is to redo the warm up question sets related to the material on this test.  I have opened up these warm up forms again, so you can do that.  These are the warm-ups which have material that will be on the test:
10/18/21 Warm up
10/20/21 Warm up
11/1/21 Warm up

Part 2: Comparing Melting Points
On a piece of aluminum foil, in a frying pan or on a hot plate, place a small, separated piles (about ¼ teaspoon) of sugar and salt.In a third separate area, add a chunk of wax  (like in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WcJ16y6wwzQ)
Heat on low and observe which substance has the lowest melting point (melts first).  Take off of heat after it melts (don’t let it start smoking or you will set off the fire alarm like we did in class)
