Mission
Orchard View School provides a personalized, flexible educational experience in our community for grades K–12 through a unique blend of independent study, on-campus classes, and active family partnership. We nurture social-emotional development, provide personalized academic growth through one-to-one teacher meetings, and inspire creativity and a lifelong love for learning.
Vision
We envision a thriving school community that fosters academic excellence and personal growth where students, staff, and families feel seen, inspired, and supported to reach their full potential. Together, we are committed to cultivating a culture of well-being, inclusivity, and meaningful contributions to our school, local community, and beyond.
A Commitment to Individualized Support
Orchard View teachers are committed to working with each student as an individual and, together with parents, crafting a unique learning experience to support academic success.
Curriculum
Orchard View is a public charter school. Our students are required to be taught the Common Core State Standards at every grade level. We offer a variety of curriculum options, and teachers work with families to create a unique learning plan for each student. If a family chooses not to use the curriculum provided by Orchard View, it is important to work with the teacher of record to ensure that state standards are being met. We cannot support the use of curriculum that has any religious affiliation.
Synchronous Instruction
Daily instruction with a teacher is available and can include on-site classes, teacher meetings, or office hours. Students are required to attend at least half of the synchronous instruction opportunities each attendance month.
Live Interaction
Daily live interaction includes two-way communication between the student and school staff (e.g., teacher or counselor) through in-person meetings, phone calls, or video conferencing.
Teacher Meetings
Students are required to meet with their Teacher of Record in person, virtually, or by phone based on a schedule determined by the teacher and family. These meetings generally occur every one to two weeks.
