Transitional Kindergarten at Orchard View
Orchard View School (OVS) offers a flexible and family-centered independent study program for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) students. While TK students do not attend on-campus classes, they are fully supported by a supervising teacher who partners with families to provide an engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experience at home.
How It Works:
● Each TK student is assigned a supervising teacher who provides curriculum options, learning materials, and guidance throughout the year.
● Families meet regularly (in person or virtually) with the supervising teacher to review student progress, discuss goals, and receive support tailored to their child’s needs.
● Curriculum focuses on early literacy, numeracy, fine motor skills, creativity, and social-emotional development to build a strong foundation for Kindergarten.
● Families receive ongoing support to create a positive home learning environment and foster a love of learning.
Program Highlights:
● Personalized support and flexibility for young learners
● Aligned with California state Learning Foundations for TK
● Focus on play-based and hands-on learning
● Regular teacher check-ins and progress monitoring
● Access to Orchard View School community events and resources
● Each spring, TK students are invited to visit the classroom, meet the K-1 teacher, and connect with other TK students to ease their transition to school in the fall.
● A great start for lifelong learning
Our TK program helps children grow in confidence, curiosity, and readiness for Kindergarten while giving families the flexibility and connection that Orchard View School is known for.
